چکیده

Potassium ion (K) is the most abundant intracellular metal ion in the body and plays an important role in biological activities. Fabrication of K recognition and response smart materials is of both scientific and technological interests for various applications. Recently, our group have developed a series kinds of K-recognizable responsive smart materials based on 15-crown-5 as K recognizing receptor and thermoresponsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) polymer as actuator. The design, fabrication and performance of these K-recognizable responsive smart materials with various configurations, such as linear polymers, linear-grafted gating membranes, hydrogels and microcapsules, will be describe in this work.

Smart microcapsule membranes for stimuli-responsive controlled- release

The target of a controlled drug delivery system is for an improved drug treatment (outcome) through rate-/time-programmed and/or site-specific drug delivery. Environmental stimuli-responsive controlled-release systems have been developed specifically for this purpose. These environmental stimuli-responsive release systems can release specified chemicals or drugs at a particular site where an en...

Stimuli-responsive nucleic acid-functionalized metal–organic framework nanoparticles using pH- and metal-ion-dependent DNAzymes as locks† †Electronic supplementary information (ESI) available. See DOI: 10.1039/c7sc01765k Click here for additional data file.

A versatile approach to modify metal–organic framework nanoparticles (NMOFs) with nucleic acid tethers, using the “click chemistry” method is introduced. The nucleic acid-functionalized NMOFs are used to prepare stimuli-responsive carriers of loads (fluorescence probes or anti-cancer drugs). Two different stimuli-responsive nucleic acid-based NMOFs are presented. One system involves the prepara...

Biomolecule-responsive Behavior of Smart Gels Having Biomolecular Complexes as Reversible Cross-links

Introduction Stimuli-responsive gels undergo abrupt changes in volume in response to environmental changes such as pH and temperature. Stimuli-responsive gels have attracted considerable attention as smart materials in the biochemical and biomedical fields, since they can sense environmental changes and induce structural changes by themselves. The fascinating properties of such stimuli-responsi...

Removal of Ca(II) and Mg(II) from potassium chromate solution on Amberlite IRC 748 synthetic resin by ion exchange.

Experimental measurements have been made on the batch ion exchange of Ca(II) and Mg(II) from potassium chromate solution using cation exchanger of Amberlite IRC 748 as K+ form. The ion exchange behavior of two alkaline-earth metals on the resin, depending on contact time, pH, temperature and resin dosage was studied. The adsorption isotherms were described by means of the Langmuir and Freundlic...

Smart gating membranes with in situ self-assembled responsive nanogels as functional gates

Smart gating membranes, inspired by the gating function of ion channels across cell membranes, are artificial membranes composed of non-responsive porous membrane substrates and responsive gates in the membrane pores that are able to dramatically regulate the trans-membrane transport of substances in response to environmental stimuli. Easy fabrication, high flux, significant response and strong...
